If anyone has one, I will pay for it. I want it. Now. I’ll have to sell my Veloster and get a Swift GTi/GT and handbrake turn everywhere.

I had a Holden Barina as my first manual car. Our mechanic would routinely berate us for coating its underside in thick mud. We were teenage rally pros (in our mind). I assume the swift gti is as excellent, if not more so, than the bog stock barina :D

I say go for it

one word of warning. I was rear ended by an 18 wheeler at a red light, my back seats ceased to exist. Carrying passengers in the back would have resulted in their death.

These are fun cars. My friend has one. We are going to attend auto slalom practice session with it in tomorrow. He just finished some suspension modifications so now the ride is pretty firm. I’m pretty sure that it will be rather fast in the practice session.

To be completely honest his car isn’t a real GTi. He had a GTi with a very rotten body but he bought another Swift with very low mileage from an old lady. That car had a 3 cylinder engine so my friend swapped the essential GTi parts to the nearly rust free car.

If you wondering about the black front fender the old lady wasn’t a very good driver...

Oh my that sounds fun. And I don’t care about safety in my car. I’m going to do some weight reduction if I get it. Side crash beams, bumper crash beams, spare tire, tar sound deadening, and carpets take no money and time to take out and drop like 100 lbs. It’s probably going to drive way better after just that.

I saw this post and went looking for that article, I remember reading that issue when MotorTrend published it. Some “Merican” car loving friends didn’t realize that Summit had aftermarket parts for a tiny Japanese car like the Swift.

In much the same way a fisherman might be surprised to learn Shimano makes bicycle parts (and vice versa for a cyclist)
